Welcome to Tap In Counseling,
Founded in 2024, Tap In Counseling was created with a simple belief: lasting change happens when we work with the brain and body—not just our thoughts. While traditional talk therapy has its place, many people living with ADHD, chronic stress, anxiety, or deeply rooted negative beliefs need an approach that goes beyond simply talking about their struggles.
At Tap In Counseling, I specialize in treating ADHD and the emotional patterns that often accompany it, including self-doubt, perfectionism, overwhelm, shame, and limiting beliefs. We use evidence-based, brain-based, and body-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic interventions, and other neuroscience-informed approaches to help clients create meaningful, lasting change. Rather than simply teaching coping skills, we work to help your nervous system heal, allowing you to respond differently instead of just trying harder.
My mission is to help clients understand how their brains work, break free from patterns that no longer serve them, and build lives rooted in confidence, resilience, and connection. Healing isn't about becoming someone new—it's about removing the barriers that have kept you from becoming who you've always been capable of being.
Meet Your Therapist
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2020 and have been a licensed therapist since 2021. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. While I value every part of that experience, my work has naturally evolved into a passion for supporting individuals and families impacted by ADHD.
My perspective changed profoundly as I learned about ADHD in my own life. Understanding how my brain works didn't just change the way I saw myself—it transformed the way I approached therapy. Rather than asking people to fit into a world that wasn't designed for the way their brains function, I began helping them understand and work with their brains instead. That shift has become the foundation of my practice.
I believe ADHD isn't a character flaw or a lack of effort. It's a different way of processing the world. When people understand how their brains are wired, they stop blaming themselves for struggling with strategies that were never designed for them. Whether I'm helping a mother better understand her child, a spouse navigate the challenges ADHD brings to a relationship, or an individual finally make sense of years of frustration, my goal is always the same: replace shame with understanding and overwhelm with confidence.
Outside of the therapy office, I'm a parent to two amazing children and understand firsthand the joys and challenges of raising kids whose needs don't always fit the traditional mold. I've navigated difficult decisions about education, learned that conventional parenting advice doesn't always apply, and discovered the importance of leading with calm intention instead of reacting in the heat of the moment. Those experiences have given me not only empathy for the families I serve but also practical insight into what it takes to create more peace at home.
Today, I'm passionate about helping people stop fighting against the way their brains work and start using that knowledge to build healthier relationships, greater confidence, and lives that feel more authentic. I believe that understanding changes everything—and when we understand ourselves, we're finally free to grow.
